RED STRIPE RACING & ROLY MOLY RACING HISTORY AND PERSONNEL

The Red Stripe Racing team was founded in 2000 by Thomas and Edward Robinson in order to compete in the MSA British Endurance Kart Championship. They took it's name from the Red Stripe Jamaican lager brewed in the UK by the Charles Wells brewery.

Richard Staley was a work colleague of Tom Robinson who, together with his partner Heidi, had ridden mountain bikes with Tom and Edward in the Roly Moly Racing team.

James Michell had also ridden in the Roly Moly team, had raced karts in the same team in the 1960s and had mechaniced for Tom when he raced grass track bikes and later, in road racing, when he won the British Championship on an Aermacchi motorbike and later still when he rode in the 24hr Bol d'Or round of the World Endurance Championship. Subsequently, Tom moved to off-road motorcycle enduros in the UK and most notably in Mexico for the 1992 Baja 1000 race.

Edward and Richard left the team in 2002 and 2004 respectively due to other commitments, leaving James and Thomas to continue by themselves.

In October 2011 as the Charles Wells brewery had stopped marketing Red Stripe, our reason for using the name diminished and we renamed the team back to Roly Moly Racing once again.
